Health and wellness is a hot topic these days. Everyone is looking for ways to become healthier. Wellness is something that we all strive for, on an outer and inner level. Part of being healthy and well is gaining knowledge and being educated on what’s best for our own individual lives. We are all unique, individual beings and function very differently, but at the core there are many tips for achieving optimal health.
Health and wellness is a lifestyle, a state of mind. We have to set the intention to live our lives to the fullest extent of health as possible. Health does not just include the foods we put into our bodies, it is a union of our mind, body, and spirit. We need each of these areas to be functioning at a high level to really be at our best.
What are some things you can gently let go of to improve your health?
For your mental health: Ditch the worry, the uneasiness, the anxiety, and regret. We know these emotions cause turbulence in the mind and even in the body. If you find you’re having difficulty controlling your mind, incorporate some of the tools we’ve introduced here on this blog. Meditate, use affirmations, repeat a Sacred Mantra, breathe, find something you can use to alter the course of your thoughts. Your body hears what your mind tells it; make sure you’re sending it positive messages!
For your physical health: Ditch the foods that do not serve you. We live in a fast food society, but are these foods really helping to fuel and nourish our bodies? Try eliminating any processed foods, and strive for whole, natural, and preferably organic foods. Work toward decreasing your soda intake, and replace it with tea or water. Attempt to minimize your sugar consumption, and if you have a sweet tooth, try nature’s sweetest food and opt for a piece of fruit. Take notice of how your body feels after eating certain foods, and if you feel it’s not serving you, gently let it go.
For your spiritual health: Ditch the self-doubt, negative thoughts, and limited beliefs. We so often are our own worst enemies when it comes to self-love and confidence. We think we aren’t good enough to achieve all that we want. We judge others and live life through unconscious lenses. Become more aware; become more mindful of all that you do, be more loving to yourself and to others.
These are a few ideas of foods, ideas, and notions to gently let go of to increase your well-being. We are all different and different things work for different people. So, let us know! What do you think you could let go of to maximize your total wellness?
